Bellingham Bay Half Marathon - The Quest Continues

James and Andy ran the Bellingham Bay Half Marathon on September 28th. The guys are on a quest to qualify for the Boston Marathon and this was a prep race for that quest. They ran the half marathon in 1:31:25 for an average pace of 6:58 min/mile over the 13.1 mile course. It was a gorgeous day and the event was held at the Bellingham Farmer's Market which made for a fun area to watch from.

The guys finished in 21st place out of 966 participants! That's right they were in the top 2%! Wow that is some great training they are doing. Here are some pictures from the race.

The guys showing me what place they will come in, just a little early morning pre-race humor.
Trying to work out those pre-race nerves. His poor knuckles!?!?
Somehow I managed to mess up all my running photos because I was taking video. So here we are after the race already! Victorious! Andy got second in his age group and James finished just out of the medals in fourth for his age group. They truly did an AWESOME job!
Grant was enamored with the music they had as part of the post race activities. He hung out here for a good hour watching them play.
Not the Papparazi!
This is the last race in between now and the Seattle Marathon when they hope to qualify for the Boston Marathon. Let's keep our fingers crossed for no injuries and great training!

(the quest continues Thanksgiving Weekend)
